What is Blitz Wallet?
Blitz is a Bitcoin and Lightning wallet for iOS, Android, and the web. It uses Spark for payments and supports on-chain Bitcoin, Lightning addresses, gifts, pools, Nostr Wallet Connect, and point of sale.
Is Blitz self-custodial?
Yes. Your 12-word backup generates your keys on your device. Neither Blitz nor Spark can move your funds. See the security explanation and seed phrase guide.
Is it free?
The app has no monthly charge. Blitz-to-Blitz contact payments have no Blitz transaction fee. Other payment routes and swaps may have fees; check the app before confirming.
Which devices work?
iOS (App Store), Android (Play Store + Zapstore), and any browser via wallet.blitzwalletapp.com. Same wallet logic everywhere. Download options.
Do I need to submit ID to create a Blitz wallet?
Blitz does not require government ID to create a wallet. Third-party providers used for some payment routes may have their own terms and requirements.
How paying works
What is Spark & Lightning?
Lightning is a Bitcoin payment network. Spark is a Bitcoin Layer 2 used by Blitz for wallet payments. Spark supports fast transfers without requiring you to manage Lightning channels. Spark operators participate in normal state changes; see the Spark wallet guide.
Can I pay any Lightning QR?
Blitz supports compatible Lightning payment requests, LNURL,
Lightning addresses, on-chain Bitcoin, and Spark payment
requests. A payment can still fail if the request, amount, or
route is not supported. You can also receive at a Blitz
Lightning address such as you@blitzwalletapp.com.
What are Gifts, Pools and Paylinks?
Gifts = send via a shareable link that the recipient claims in Blitz. Pools = collect as a group with one shared link. Paylinks = payment links that anyone can pay from any compatible Lightning wallet or with USDT/USDC. The product adds no extra gift or Pool fee, but the underlying payment or network fee still applies.
Do I need the recipient’s invoice?
Not for Blitz contacts. Pick a name and send. For other people, use their Lightning address or scan their QR code or invoice.
Can I get paid while offline?
Some supported Spark payment flows can receive while your phone is offline. Lightning behavior depends on the payment type and service availability. A sender still needs a valid payment request or Lightning address.
Can I send or receive on-chain Bitcoin?
Yes. Blitz supports on-chain Bitcoin send and receive options where available. Miner fees and confirmation times vary with network conditions.
Are gifts and pools free?
There is no extra Blitz fee to create a gift or pool. The underlying Lightning, Spark, on-chain, or stablecoin payment may have a network or service fee shown before confirmation.
Bitcoin & dollars, same wallet
What is USDB?
USDB is a dollar-pegged stablecoin on Spark issued by Brale. Check current reserve and redemption disclosures from Brale before using USDB. Hold 10 or more USDB to earn up to 6% back, paid daily in BTC. Program terms can change, so check the app. Stablecoins carry issuer and platform risk. USDB details.
Can I use USDT & USDC?
Yes. Receive USDC or USDT via accumulation addresses on 9 supported networks: Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, Plasma, Polygon, Solana, and Tron. Blitz can auto-convert to BTC or USDB. Swap inside Blitz via Flashnet.
Why dollars on Bitcoin?
Choose BTC or Dollars based on how you want to receive and use funds. Bitcoin's price changes; USDB is a dollar-denominated stablecoin with issuer, redemption, and network risks. Review the current quote, route, and fee before confirming a swap.
Is there a fee to hold dollars?
No holding fee. Small swap fees apply. Hold 10 or more USDB to earn up to 6% back, paid daily in BTC. Program terms can change, so check the app. Stablecoins carry issuer and platform risk.
Keep control
What if I lose my phone?
Use the 12-word seed phrase to restore wallet keys in supported Blitz flows. If you lose the phrase and have no copy, key access may be lost.
Can Spark operators stop a normal payment?
Spark operators participate in ordinary Spark transfers. If they are unavailable or do not cooperate, normal Spark transfers can be delayed or stop. See the security and recovery explanation.
Can I recover if Blitz disappears?
Spark’s unilateral exit lets you withdraw to the Bitcoin blockchain without operators. Today it’s a command-line process with on-chain fees and waiting periods, and it isn’t built into Blitz. Read the security page.
Is Blitz open-source?
Yes. Apache 2.0 at GitHub.
Do merchants pay more?
No monthly fee for Point of Sale. Same low fees as personal payments. POS details.
