We’ve been hard at work preparing Blitz Wallet for its official
release. This latest update fixes minor bugs found during testing,
includes small improvements, and enhances crash analytics, allowing us
to more easily maintain the application.
Here’s everything that’s new:
Improved eCash offline claiming payment security.
Since our mission is to become the simplest Bitcoin Lightning wallet,
we need to ensure users are protected from the loss of funds. With
this update, we’ve introduced key changes to prevent duplicate
payments and improve eCash offline claiming.
-
No More Duplicate Payments: You can now rest easy
knowing eCash transactions can’t be paid twice. Every eCash
transaction now tracks the associated invoice, and a new
hasAlreadyPaidInvoice check ensures an invoice can't be reused.
Previously, the app didn’t track invoice data, which made it
impossible to prevent double-spending. That’s now fully resolved.
-
Improved Background Invoice Handling: If you’ve
ever started an eCash quote but didn’t finish paying before Blitz's
internal check timeout expired, the app used to try claiming it
during the next wallet load—using the wrong proof index. We’ve fixed
this so offline paid eCash invoices can be properly claimed.
Upgraded Payment Experience
Sending and receiving sats should be simple, seamless, and fast. We’ve
made several improvements across the board.
-
BOLT12 Pay Support from Liquid: You can now send to
BOLT12 invoices directly from your Liquid balance.
-
Blink QR Code Support: Blink QR codes can now be
paid directly inside Blitz with LNURL-pay support, mo more getting
kicked out to a web browser: scan, confirm, and pay.
-
Lower Limits for Lightning-to-Liquid Swaps: The
minimum receive amount for Lightning-to-Liquid payments has been
reduced to just 100 sats, making smaller swaps more accessible than
ever.
App Enhancements & New Features
-
Swipe to Sync: You can now manually trigger a node
sync just by swiping up on the wallet home screen. Simple,
intuitive, and always under your control.
-
Introducing Blitz Social Tracking: Curious how many
others are using Blitz? Head to settings to find our new Blitz
Social section. It shows real-time download stats and user growth as
a small way to feel the pulse of the Blitz community.
-
Crash Reporting with Privacy Control: We’ve
integrated Crashlytics to help track bugs and improve stability.
There’s a new settings toggle to opt-in or out of crash reporting
for total privacy.
-
Improved Half-Modal Popups: Popups can now be
dismissed more naturally—either tap outside or swipe down. This also
fixes a bug where users could accidentally close the modal without
meaning to.
Bug Fixes & Stability
As always, this update includes a round of bug fixes and performance
improvements to keep your wallet running smoothly.
Best,
Blitz Team
